the morning star is born

yoon saebyul was born along with her twin sister yoon saera, they are the royal princesses of the earth queen and king in eunmi. they rejoiced as both twins are healthy and well, they thanked teojushin for giving birth such beautiful princesses. saebyul was named as she was born when the sun shined its first ray to the kingdom, the morning star. at their first few years, saebyul starts to get fond of reading scrolls about the arts of war and war tactics. even though saebyul was only four years old, she starts to think herself as a proud general like haejin cheonma. she kept reading her stories and how her bravery in battle swayed the little saebyul to be brave and courageous as well.ever since she read the legends of haejin cheonma, she took it by heart. among the siblings, saebyul is the bravest and the kindest. however, the earth queen wanted saebyul to be as prim and proper like all princesses do but she isn't the type to dress gowns and all. the earth queen favored more of saebyul to be the crowned princess as she was brave and courageous, but the earth king and queen are more protective of saebyul because of her heroic nature at this young age, as she was too, too brave to even attempting to climb a tree once but her mother disciplined her and taught her that there are things she cannot do when she's too young for it. that time saebyul haven't unlocked her abilities of earth bending yet so as saera, the twins are more closer with saebyul leading their way of their growth.

at the age of 12, saebyul and her twin went outside of eunmi and into the eunheul to meet with their first friends and both king and queen are oblivious for this but saebyul insisted to go since she wanted to see the view of eunheul. it took her a few attempts to convince her mother and father until they agreed for the two princesses to venture outside of eunmi with more royal guards and royal knights, as well as trusted royal advisors with them to this trip.the outskirts has more lush greeneries and farmlands. she wanted to see the situation of eunheul itself so in the future when she becomes a queen, she can find solutions on some problems going on from outside of eunmi. once they were outside the fortress, the twins were accompanied by royal guards, royal knights and trusted advisors when they went into a farm, they met their first friends who they did not know where a group of rebels who seeks more resources from eunmi and wanted justice for not giving the equal treasure as the others inside eunmi. they decided to kidnapped the twins. while going back to eunmi, they got ambushed by the rebels on their way home, guns blazing and the car swooped down the shallow cliff. the plan of kidnapping them didn't go as planned.the royal guards and knights acted quickly for the safety of two princesses. the loud shots of guns hurdling and the earth crumbling and rising from the ground, saebyul woke up from the car and saw how their vehicle got damaged then she sees saera beside her, gravely wounded as she got shot by the stray bullet. saebyul gets out first before helping saera out with the royal advisors and they get into a cave while a few royal knights and the remaining royal guards protected them until the back up came to save them.blood seeped from saera's wounds as she was about to go to shock, saebyul was also injured with a wound from her temples, few scrapes, a broken rib and shoulder blade but seeing how her sister was about to die, she starts to think of a future without her. she loved her sister so much, taking away from her is too much for her to handle. with a desperate plea, she seeks teojushin to save saera, even to the extent saebyul pleaded:"please save her! i will do whatever you want, if you want my limbs, my legs-- even my life then take it! just please don't take away my sister! i beg you! great teojushin!"and that moment, teojushin heard her plea. in exchange of saving saera, the great teojushin took away the most important thing that a royal has to use... her sight. seeing her visions of future for the earth nation and the desire for peace is the equivalent exchange for her sister's life.at the greatest sacrifice, comes with a greatest gift.saebyul, at the moment, lost her ability to see, awakened her earthbending. earth rumbled their cave as it splits the path of their way and the rebels. she lose her consciousness and the royal knights guarded the princesses until the reinforcements arrived.that day scarred saebyul for a lifetime, her sacrifice comes with a greater price. upon knowing that their crowned princess sacrificed something that is needed to envision for the future of earth nation. the cabinets and advisors discussed non-stop about the twin's conditions, discovering saebyul's earthbending for the first time. they had a hard time to make a decision that will ultimately affect both of their daughter's lives.saebyul can no longer see and to become the crowned heir, they must not lack anything. the hopes of her mother and father, shattered by the news that saebyul no longer see the light, made the hardest decision to replace saebyul as a crowned princess and instead they put saera as the new crowned princess. this is the start of the twins growing apart as their parents became favored of saera while saebyul was taking care of by nurses and doctors as she can no longer see.

at the age of 13, saebyul had enough with the treatments of the doctors as they do not know what will be the cure for her blindness. she shunned anyone away, including her twin and her siblings before she decided to earth bend her way out of the palace. because saebyul only know how to earthbend but she couldn't practice well because of her inability to see her progression. she decided to leave the palace with the help of those who are willing to help her, handmaidens who were entrusted to her by the queen for her assistance. but only two handmaidens know what saebyul wanted to do.but one handmaiden asked the princess, "where will you go, princess? it's too dangerous for you to go alone without our assistance." saebyul lifted up her head and turn to face at the direction where the handmaiden asked, "i read from the books that badger moles live underground, they are also blind but they can earthbend better." she responded, the sole reason why saebyul wanted to get out of the palace. she wanted to learn to earthbend from the same experience she's dealing right then.as two handmaidens agreed to accompany saebyul for the search of badger moles. at first, saebyul was scared but had to toughen up since she couldn't see. they went deeper and deeper as she earthbend her way down. when the two handmaidens discovered a crevice, they guided the blind princess down until they heard the earth rumbling coming closer towards them. saebyul told the two handmaidens not to be scared, then they heard it...the badger mole with a scar from it's left eye, might be some poachers tried to catch them.at first it was hostile towards them, two handmaidens tried to protect the princess but saebyul went in front of them. facing the badger mole. she pried away her fear and faces the badger mole, at that moment, saebyul awakened fauna symbiosis. she calmly and slowly walk towards the badger mole, she said to it. "it's okay... we're not going to harm you." until her fingertips touched the badger mole's nose, and slowly it calmed down, trying to feel each other's senses as both the badger mole and the princess unable to see each other.since that night, saebyul goes out of the palace to meet with her dear friend and learned how to become like them and how they can adapt to the surroundings without using the sense of seeing. saebyul made a strong bond with the certain badger mole, making herwith her newfound ability, she learned control her earth bending capabilities with the use of seismic waves around her. she feels the earth itself, the people's vibration through their feet and their tension between the sole of their feet. saebyul thought that being blind would take away her responsibility as a princess but it moved her as she made a friend from underground.at the age of 16, king yohan and queen saerin discovered that saebyul made friends with a badger mole, they called saebyul for a private meeting and questioned her. they thought saebyul used her ability to exploit on them but she clarified her side with her fist placed on her chest."the badger mole is my friend, it helped me way better to stand up in my own two feet. as a princess of earth nation, loyal to the great teojushin and the crown. i, yoon saebyul, will never exploit or own anything that the earth nation has. if anyone ever tried to take advantage of them, they will be buried right where they stood.with the princess's bravery and courage words, king yohan and queen saerin has understood what saebyul had wanted. they finally see through saebyul's desire, her bravery and courageousness, despite being unable to see, is still there. no setbacks would push saebyul's steadfast and fortified heart.through out the following years, saebyul had enhanced her hearing and the sensitivity of touch just to "see" everything without even seeing literally. her disability never holds her back. she thrives to practice more and more of earthbending with the use of seismic waves, she knows how to control her bending. she refused to let anyone weighing her down because of her blindness, she won't let her guard down.

The General of Earth nation

as time goes by, yoon saebyul slowly went to the ranks in military as they saw her capabilities despite the situation she's in. she accepted the fact that she will never be a crowned princess, instead, she wanted nothing but to protect her family and their nation from the wars. she had missed many occasions in their palace as she was busy training herself to become a better person for the earth nation.saebyul became a general at the age of 24 and became the youngest general in the history of earth nation, with her unmatched terraformation and awareness as well as her flawless earth bending deemed worthy for the ranks as no one ever had the same spirit since the great haejin cheonma in her years.she grew empathy towards those who never been or no longer able to see around earth kingdom, she had suggested to her father to add morse coding and braille codes for the earth citizens to learn to communicate using other senses other than sense of seeing, however there had no news about it until now.saebyul also mentors earthbenders who has the same disability like she did but only those who desired to be among the earthbenders and driven to protect their beloved nation. she also taught a few normal earthbenders whenever she sensed their worth in their early age.as she became a general, she has most of the control of the military in earth nation. some enemies attempted to assassinate her, but none of them ever succeeded. saebyul already mastered two abilities that is needed for her to be a master earthbender.

saebyul has a duality when it comes to her personality, she can either be approachable or aloof depending on the situation at hand. she either teases people or berated them depends on their actions. saebyul is someone who can rely on when it comes to helping people who are less fortunate. she mostly throws some blind jokes on people who doesn't know she's blind.

Physical appearance

yoon saebyul has long black hair, cat eyes, round nose, chiseled chin, has a mole under her left brow and slim yet slightly bulk physique.she has scars ranging from small to medium on her torso from her training and battles, the large scar she has got from when she was struck by a lightning on a rainy day on her right arm. she covered it with a tattoo of cherry blossoms.her corneas are still the same color, but can no longer be of use as she had sacrificed her sight long ago. however she doesn't wear shades to hide her eyes.

Fauna symbiosis (level 3)

saebyul often use this whenever she is feeling less happy, she care for animals and wanted them to be friends, and also as an emotional support for her.

Terraformation (level 10)

she uses this all the time, either as a protection and manipulation. saebyul also use this as a form of fighting either mid-range and close range attacks. she cannot manipulate long range as her senses has its limits.

elemental fusion (level 7)

she haven't perfected this one, however she developed to manipulate rocks with fire as fiery projectiles when a source of fire is present. using it as form of trump card whenever she's out of options or losing the battle.

seismic pulse (level 4)

as far she's concern for the welfare of her people, she cannot use this as it would endanger the lives of her people. she can only use this for battles.

Geomantic sight (level 10)

because of her inability to see things, she can only rely on her feet and hands to feel the earth around her. for years, her awareness in her surroundings and sensitivity developed to sense everything around her. however, the more she focused on what is happening on everything, the more her head aches and lose consciousness.

as she was too focused on enhancing herself with earth bending, she never been able to develop on ever bending crystal. she can only link herself to where the crystal is but never exploit it for her own gain.
